Shantideva's The Way of the Bodhisattva is the singular most inspiring text I've encountered on this path. It contains the complete Dharma. Everything we need to move from confusion to clarity, from distress to ease, for the benefit of all beings.
2020 Schedule for this series: 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
About this retreat series
The teachings of The Way of the Bodhisattva are particularly timely in their direct ability to speak to uncertain times, turbulent minds, and escalating cycles of reactivity and conflict. Considered medicinal, this wisdom and its lineage of practice has the ability to heal our emotional distress and guide us in recognizing the potential of this precious human life.
The Bodhisattva teachings and practices are profoundly helpful as a way to calm our minds and help us navigate, with greater ease, an unpredictable world. Orgyen Chowang Rinpoche's commentary on this powerful classic text is designed to help us all enter the transformational path of Bodhisattva training.
Video talks by Rinpoche will include both commentary on Shantideva's text as well as his introduction to the primary meditative practices used to cultivate the Four Aspects of a Good Heart, Bodhicitta, and the Six Trainings of a Bodhisattva (the six Paramitas). As she's available, Dharma Refuge teacher Sue Kochan will support dialog and inquiry to deepen our understanding of this path.
See the schedule for each retreat in this series below. Everyone is welcome. No previous Buddhist practice or experience is required.

For as long as space endures, and for as long as living beings remain, until then may I, too, abide, to dispel the misery of the world.
- Shantideva, The Way of the Bodhisattva
"Love is the only cause of happiness. Its nature is all-pervasive like space. Love is the sunlight of the mind."
