Practices in the Park

A sangha favorite, continues!

Please join us for our practices in the park series. This is a sangha favorite and runs during nice weather, generally summer into early fall.

We gather together in Highland Park on several Saturday mornings to say our usual prayers, do sitting or walking meditation and discuss practice and Dharma. Everyone is welcome!

When:
We invite anyone who is interested to join us on select Saturday mornings, from 10:00-11:30. Scheduled dates can be found on our calendar page.

Past attendees have appreciated that we sit in a circle, saying it seems to concentrate the meditation energy, and noting that the circle itself is being held by the nature surrounding us. The opportunity for discussion after we meditate is also something that people appreciate.
Where:
We meet in a meadow in Highland Park, on Robinson Drive between South. Ave. and Mt. Hope Ave. It is the second (middle) meadow.  If you arrive a little before 10:00 you will see folks gathering. The corner of Robinson and Mt. Hope has a low Highland Park sign, and the corner of Robinson and South Ave. has a Frederick Douglas statue.

Participation details:
There are no toilets or water. Bring a blanket, cushion or chair to sit on, as the grass can be wet. Please e-mail Ellen Nakhnikian with any questions. You do not need to sign up in advance and you can come to as many or as few as you wish.

Please do not come if it is raining because we will not hold practice in the rain.

Hope to see you there! Everyone is welcome. No previous experience is required.
