Calendar of practices, classes, retreats and Dharma study

Our mission is to be a welcoming center of spiritual refuge for all, where the ancient wisdom of the Buddha comes alive in modern life through teachings, inquiry, practice, and the warmth of community.

Practices & Dharma Talks now online
Our welcoming center of spiritual refuge for all has temporarily moved online.
We will continue to "ZOOM" until further notice.

We're grateful to be working in partnership with the Church on re-opening plans for our Dharma Center. We will resume in-person practices, once it's safe and sensible for visitors, sangha members and volunteers. With palms together we look forward to your presence on Zoom until we can be together at the center.

Join us for Wednesday and Saturday practices and Dharma talks, now held through Zoom.

Wednesdays, from 7:00-9:00 pm or Saturdays from 10:00-11:30 am.

We are continually adding guest teachers and speakers to our Wednesday evening practices online. We do encourage you to sign-up for our newsletter and check out our practice calendar, Facebook and MeetUp for new announcements.
We offer guided meditation for beginners on Wednesday evenings and the first sitting on Saturday mornings. Everyone is warmly welcomed and no previous meditation experience is required. Many Wednesday evening sittings are followed by a Dharma Talk.

Dharma Study and Retreat Opportunities
  • Bodhisattva's Everywhere talks by guest speakers and senior Dharma Refuge practitioners
Closing Announcements will be posted prominently at the top of this page.

Information about when we decide to close and how we announce closings due to "weather events" can be found at the bottom of this page.

Weather events, closings, cancellations

If Covenant United Methodist Church closes due to severe weather, any scheduled Dharma Refuge event will be cancelled.

If the weather is a concern, please check to see if we're closed before you head to a scheduled event. Here is how you can check and how we will attempt to notify you.

Dharma Refuge will update:
  • the schedule on this page on our website
  • our Facebook page
  • we will also send out an email announcing the closing, so if you're not on our email list please subscribe now, at the bottom of this page!

If a regular Saturday or Wednesday practice is cancelled it will not be rescheduled. If a special program, teaching, retreat, etc. is scheduled we will very likely reschedule the event and will announce new dates on our site and via our email newsletter and Facebook once alternative plans can be made and confirmed.

The moment you begin to question that things may not be as they seem, the structure of delusion begins to fall away.
